Dance… light and deep, full of virtuosity and sensitivity, humorous, mischievous or serious, sensual, always ethereal, always bright… its humanity, grace and elegance transport us to an elsewhere, where dreams take shape, where the soul is fed, where the spirit ascends and the mind is enlightened.
For a fleeting instant, in a common breath, the momentary things become timeless.
There are as many personal stories as there are human beings on Earth, but Dance, like Music, like Literature, has the power to transcend the individual to reach the universal: that is what moves us, what makes us growing up.
Our admiration for Thierry Malandain’s company led us to create the “Association des Amis du Malandain Ballet Biarritz” in February 2003, with the objective of joining and supporting the Ballet in all its missions of creation and promotion.

The Association brings together Active Members, Donating Members and Benefactor Members who benefit from the Aillagon law of 1st August 2003 on patronage (corporate tax deduction of 60% of the donation). We also organise bus trips to the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastián and to the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao.

The Association members enjoy some privileges:
Opportunity to sit in on public rehearsals in the Gare du Midi studio
Special member discount for any Malandain Ballet Biarritz performance
Discount ticket to our partners’ performances
Free subscription to Malandain Ballet Biarritz quarterly magazine
Opportunity to meet the dancers during cocktail receptions at the end of each show

We are very pleased to see that more and more of you are joining our association everyday.
Thank you for your friendship, your fidelity and your love of Dance!

Repetto, Malandain and Dance

Cercle Malandain

Le Carré des Mécènes – the Malandain Ballet Biarritz patrons’ organization – is now called Le Cercle Malandain (the Malandain Circle). Some might ask, “Why a circle?” But isn’t dance the art of exploring geometric shapes? And beyond shapes, isn’t dance also about connecting with others: audience members, fans, connoisseurs and the general public? Or with anyone who’s interested, wonders or expresses a desire to understand, to enjoy, to participate, to discuss, or better yet, get involved?

Le Cercle Malandain brings together those who, beyond simply being alive, seek out the unexpected, undertake incredible journeys and strive to make their mark in the world. We welcome all of you. You are our inspiration.
