Emergeant Choreographers Contest: 3rd edition
International Dance Competition notice: open call
The Opéra National de Bordeaux and the CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz, members of the Greater South West’s Centre for Choreographic Cooperation and the CCN / Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, present the third edition of the Young Ballet Choreographers’ contest.
The public finale will take place on 31 May 2020 in the Gare du Midi of Biarritz.
This competition will award:
Two creation residencies in these two ballet companies: Ballet de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux and CCN/Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin. The pieces created during the residencies will be presented to the public
Biarritz Prize: €15.000
Audience’s Award / Fondation de la Danse: € 3.000
Critic’s Award: € 3.000
In order to apply, candidates from a European Member State or a Schengen Convention Member State shall submit a video of a choreography they created (3 dancers minimum), a letter of intention and their CV on the website: http://www.concours-de-jeunes-choregraphes.com/en.
Application deadline: 15 December 2019 before midnight.
As in the previous editions, the members of the jury will be eminent figures from academic dance and ballet.
