Thierry Malandain was named "Best Choreographer" for his ballet Cendrillon at the Taglioni European Ballet Awards in Berlin. This award is not the first one for the choreographer who received the Prix de la Critique for Une Dernière Chanson in 2012. Thierry Malandain was rewarded for his ballet Cendrillon by a jury of six European critics who praised "his complex narrative art, his refined sense of humour, his refreshing style combining a sharp and surprising psychological analysis with a high degree of technique…”
As a partner of the UPPAdanse Inter-University meetings organised by the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour, Malandain Ballet Biarritz has been inviting around 150 students in a choreographic residency for the last ten years. During a week, these young people have the opportunity to talk about a ballet of Thierry Malandain under the direction of Dominique Cordemans and to work with other choreographers. Three performances are organised in the university towns of Aquitaine under the auspices of the “Ballet de l’Étudiant”, in addition to the September performances given as part of the Scènes Ouvertes of Le Temps d'Aimer la Danse festival and to the shows organised every two years in April for the Rencontres Chorégraphiques.
In the framework of the project euro régional Ballet T, public rehearsals took place in the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in Donostia / San Sebastián and in the Gare du Midi in Biarritz.
The choreographic workshops for amateur adults organised by Gaël Domenger (Head of the Laboratoire de Recherche Chorégraphique / Médiation / Accueil Studio) started again on the 6th of October at the Gare du Midi.
